Simple is good. When Hurricane Whatever blew through the Bay several years ago, your grandfather (my father) was ill and unable to go to his home. Water had risen far enough that people were riding jet skis in the street. His home had no damage except that the electricity was off for 2-3 days the finally went back on. I went to his house with Aunt B., and we looked through everything including the fridge.

We threw out several pieces of lunch meat, 1/4 gallon of milk, and several other items- total cubic capacity was one full blue plastic grocery bag. We cleaned up several items in the yard and came home. If you want to nick a page out of the "how to live simple" book, visit his place and look around. Nothing that is unused within 30 days survives.
